Privacy Policy

SoFedUp helps you plan meals around a grocery budget. To do that, the app needs to know some things about your household and how you eat. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. "SoFedUp", "we" and "us" mean SoFedUp LLC, based in Okemos, Michigan, United States.

The short version: we use your information to plan your meals and run the app. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and your allergy, diet and faith settings are only used to filter recipes. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.

Sensitive information

Allergies and some diets can be health information, and faith rules can reveal religious beliefs. Giving us this information is optional. If you give it, we use it only to filter recipes and show warnings in your app. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never sent to our analytics or crash-reporting tools.

How we use your information

To plan meals, build grocery lists, estimate prices and track what you have at home.
To read recipes you import or scan and turn them into ingredients and steps.
To run your account, your subscription and your free trial.
To send reminders you've turned on, like "Your trial ends in 2 days" or "Use soon". You can turn each one off.
To keep the service secure, fix problems and understand which features help people most.
To meet legal obligations.

Who helps us run SoFedUp

We use a small number of service providers. They process information only to provide their service to us.

Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage.
RevenueCat: subscription status. Apple and Google process the actual payments.
Anthropic: reads recipes you import from a link or scan from a cookbook page. Only the recipe text or photo is sent.
Kroger: grocery prices in the US. We send ingredient names and a store location, never information about you.
PostHog: app usage statistics, without allergy or health details.
Sentry: crash and error reports, without personal details.
Apple and Google: sign-in, payments and notifications.

We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Where your information is stored

Our servers are in the United States. If you use SoFedUp from Colombia or another country, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, with the protections described in this policy.

How long we keep it

While your account is open, we keep your information so the app works.
If you try the app without creating an account and don't come back, that temporary profile is deleted after 30 days.
When you delete your account, your information is deleted right away from the app's database, and from backups within 30 days.
We may keep limited records longer when the law requires it, such as tax records for purchases.

Your choices and rights

See and change your information in the app at any time, in Profile.
Delete your account and data in the app (Profile → Delete account), or by emailing us. See the support page.
Get a copy of your information, or ask us a question about it, by emailing support@sofedup.app.
Turn off reminders and location in the app or in your phone's settings.

If you live in Colombia

Under Colombia's data protection law (Ley 1581 de 2012 and Decreto 1377 de 2013), SoFedUp LLC is the party responsible for your data. You have the right to know, update and correct your data, to ask for proof of your consent, to be told how your data is used, to withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your data, to access your data free of charge, and to file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC). By choosing to share allergy, diet or faith information, you give your explicit consent for us to use it as described above; you don't have to share it to use SoFedUp.

To make a request, email support@sofedup.app. We answer questions (consultas) within 10 business days and complaints (reclamos) within 15 business days, as the law requires.

Children

SoFedUp is meant for adults planning meals for their household. It isn't directed to children under 13 (or under 18 in Colombia), and we don't knowingly collect their information. The number of kids in a household is just a number used for portions. If you believe a child gave us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Your information is encrypted in transit, and each person can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
